Known as the Miracle Tree due to its impressive range of health and cosmetic benefits, Moringa oleifera has been used for over 500 years in India and Africa. Traditionally, the leaves were collected, dried and turned into a fine, edible powder which was eaten to improve concentration and stamina, balance emotions and aid in weight loss.
Today, we know more about Moringa oleifera and it’s myriad health benefits; topically as Moringa Oil and orally as dried Moringa leaf powder. Packed with phytonutrients, Moringa leaf powder can be considered nature’s multi-vitamin. Moringa leaves are extremely anti-oxidant rich, and help to reduce inflammation in the body caused by a number of internal, and environmental factors, and are believed to be particularly helpful in detoxifying the liver. The leaves are rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B6, C and E, the minerals calcium, potassium, iron and magnesium; the leaves also contain several amino acids, the building blocks for protein. Moringa leaf powder has been suggested to help control blood sugar and cholesterol levels.
Moringa oleifera is naturally drought –resistant, and happily grows in arid regions in South East Asia and Africa. Moringa oleifera has an impressive growth rate; high-density planting and trimming allow for regular harvest, ensuring a reliable supply of Moirnga Oil and Moringa leaf powder, without depleting the number of Moringa trees. Old branches are often used to make compost, to put back into the soil to stimulate the growth of new Moringa trees, making for an even more sustainable process. Our Moringa Oil is certified organic, meaning no synthetic, potentially harmful, pesticides or fertilizers were used in its production.
With many Moringa suppliers on the market, we choose to source our Moringa Oil from farms committed to sustainable, organic agriculture and high-product quality; our Moringa Oil is produced in small quantities and we only use the freshest Moringa Oil in the products we formulate. Many of our supplier’s workforce consists of over 50% women to help in harvesting and production. We want to bring you the best quality Moringa Oil on the market, without compromising on any of our ethical and quality standards.
Moringa Oil is extracted from the seeds of Moringa oleifera which consist of roughly 40% oil. Our Moringa oil is obtained by cold-pressing the Moringa oleifera seeds to extract the oil; this process maintains the anti-oxidant activity of the virgin oil, as found in the seeds and helps preserve the naturally occurring phytonutrients, to produce a much higher quality product with greater skincare benefits. Cold pressing is done instead of a solvent extraction, which produces a lower quality product that may contain remnants of harmful organic solvents used to perform the extraction.
The impressive antioxidant content of Moringa oil helps protect skin from environmental stressors and pollution. Extremely rich in vitamin C, Moringa oil helps brighten the skin, by reducing dark spots and hyperpigmentation, in addition to helping to promote collagen stabilization. Moringa Oil exhibits anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory activity, helping to reduce the appearance of breakouts on acne-prone skin. Applied topically, cold-pressed organic Moringa Oil is a truly a miracle product; high in oleic acid (omega9), it’s an excellent moisturizer for drier, ageing skin types. This miracle oil is loaded with essential vitamins and minerals and has a unique texture for such a rich oil, spreading easily and absorbing quickly into the skin, making it an amazing emollient for all skin types. Moringa oil can be used as a luxurious oil cleanser, cuticle oil and hair oil to help moisturize and strengthen.
Apply topically to get a natural, glow from within look, help fade dark spots, keep breakouts at bay and plump the skin to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. You can find Moringa oil in our Miracle Oil and Active Clay Cleanser.
